Grange 2008

Colin & Barbara had a wet and windy journey to Grange over Sands from Barbara’s brother’s house in Ormskirk.
Peter and his friend Eddie travelled in Peter’s 3 wheeler 2CV Special from Cleckheaton in convoy with another friends car - a Porsche 911 !!
Despite some softness on the site’s grassy slope few exhibitors had any trouble and the rain eased off to the (very) occasional shower.  The wind eased down a bit too but the overall temperature was  a bit cool for August!
Richard Williams came along in his 1987 Blackjack Avion.  He says it’s a better drive than a Lomax - he’s got one of those too!  (Am I jealous?  Ooooh yes!).
There were some other superb motor exhibits (including Motor Bikes and Commercials) and the presence of the Jazz Band and Country and Western singers helped the event to go with its usual swing.
There was new Birds of Prey exhibit this year with very friendly folks running the show and some lovely birds to see.
Unfortunately Colin & Barbara didn’t win any prizes this year - perhaps because their “Period Dress” was covered by anoraks throughout the show!
The star of the show - for us - was a 1924 Lorraine Dietrich 3500, but the overall Best in Show was a 1952 Jowett Jupiter.

We shall all be going again next year.
